Brianna Hawk, MHC-LP
Hi there! My name is Brianna, and I have a boundless passion for mental health work and the mind/body connection. I offer a collaborative and direct approach to therapy to help client deepen their relationship to themselves, better understand their circumstances, and to help them move towards their goals.
I hold a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. Outside of being a therapist, I am also a yoga, somatics, and mindfulness teacher. I will often utilize tools from these modalities to help clients develop the skills necessary to find comfort in their physical bodies. I believe that these techniques are powerful ways to deepen the therapeutic process, integrate unresolved trauma, and develop new insights and resources for living in alignment with your most authentic self.
I specialize in working with individuals navigating complex family and relational dynamics, trauma, emotional regulation, and chronic pain. If you feel like you are struggling to process traumatic events, overwhelmed by intense emotions, stuck in painful patterns, or disconnected from your body and relationships, I can help. Many of my clients are insightful and motivated yet struggle to feel regulated, connected, or at ease in their bodies. Pulling from different therapeutic modalities, I work collaboratively with clients to help them cultivate self compassion and acceptance while taking actionable steps towards meaningful and lasting change.
Every person has their own unique background and needs. My approach is integrative, direct, and compassionate, drawing from DBT, ACT, IFS (parts work), and somatic interventions to help clients build emotional regulation skills, increase psychological flexibility, and foster a deeper sense of safety and self-trust. I ensure that our work together is grounded in understanding the societal and cultural contexts in which we exist. I ethically practice a multicultural lens, especially when working with clients who identify as a different ethnic or cultural background than myself. I also take this into account regarding sexual and gender orientation. My clients are always given the autonomy to teach me who they are, where they come from, and how they identify. I look for each client's unique nuances and facilitate a space where clients can feel brave to confront their concerns, symptoms, and fears while working to envision a path that feels manageable, satisfying, and even exciting.
